A Message from Antoinette Woods - Trial Exams

Thursday 1 August

Dear Parents/Carers of the wonderful Class of ‘24,

I will be returning to the role as Acting Assistant Principal next week, having been AP in Term 4 last year and Term 2 this year and wanted to assure you that the students will be well supported through the Trial Examinations and in the final months leading up to their HSC Exams.  I’d like to thank Dave Crawford for all his work with staff and students, especially the Year 12 students.  Thanks also to all our teachers for the time and effort that they put into preparing students for formal assessments and life beyond the school.

The Trial Exams, I believe, are more difficult than the HSC as all their examinations are held within 2 weeks, whereas the HSC Exams are spread over 4 weeks.  Attached is a copy of the Trial exam timetable and the HSC exam timetable can be found here.  It might be a stressful next 2 weeks for you and your child!

If your child is sick during the Trial or HSC exams, please contact the College as soon as possible to let us know and ensure they have a medical certificate as evidence of their illness/misadventure.

Please encourage your child to continue to seek support from their class teachers and book in for a chat with myself or our Pathways Coordinator, Ingrid Thompson, if they would like to discuss future possibilities.

When I was in the Year 12s’ shoes, I remember my mum emphasising the importance of sleep and a good breakfast before exams.  The examinations are important but not the end goal - our young people need to be reminded to keep things in perspective.  And wherever their journey takes them after school, may they always remember to be the light of Christ - inspiring hope and serving others.

Trials Exams Timetable

Antoinette Woods

Acting Assistant Principal

UPDATE - Parking at the Pambula Sporting Complex

Monday 22 July

Dear Parents and Carers

Bega Valley Shire Council will be erecting some bunting at Pambula Sporting Complex between the Main carpark and the Skate park whilst they work on the road surface. They asked that no student, parent, or staff drive on that section of road this week to allow the surace to set.

We ask for your assistance in this matter.
