Dear HSC Students and Families
College leadership have been working hard to develop some end of school events that would provide a suitable send off from the Lumen community. Sadly, the current level of restrictions will not allow for us to proceed at this point.
Traditionally, we offer a trifecta of events, beginning with a mass on the final Wednesday of term, followed by a farewell breakfast and whole College celebration assembly, crowned with a formal evening of speeches and awards at the conclusion of the exams.
Under the current regulations, we are only able to conduct essential activities. For you, as students and we, the College, the essential activity is, and must be, the safe conduct of your HSC Examinations.
Our planning focus now is to conduct farewell events at the conclusion of the exams. We are focusing our attention on the week of 3 - 10 December, with the intention of holding some or all of the trifecta of events, modifying for changed circumstances and whatever regulations are in place at that time.
Thank you all for your patience and perseverance through this time. Focus on your exams and keep in contact with your classes and teachers. We want great things for you all, so keep working through your HSC journey. We are very proud of who you are and what you mean to our community; we will do our utmost to bring the celebration when you are done.
Be the light of Christ
Shane Giles
Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,
The College has been notified that there may be changes to the 2021 Kinder to Year 4 intensive Swimming Program due to NSW Government COVID-19 restrictions.
We are seeking further clarification from the program providers and will notify parents and carers by Schoolzine as soon as we have more information.
Dear Parents and Carers
This week students in Year 3, 5, 7 and 9 were given their 2021 NAPLAN results to take home. Parents and carers should ask their child for these results and take the opportunity to discuss their success and/or areas to focus on.
NAPLAN results are used by the College to evaluate teaching and learning and develop strategies to further develop student Literacy and Numeracy outcomes.
For further information please visit the National Assessment Program (NAP) website or contact the College by telephoning (02) 6495 8888 or emailing lccc@cg.catholic.edu.au
Dear Lumen Christi Community
The next Lumen Christi Community Council meeting is scheduled for Thursday, 4 November at 4:00pm and will be an open meeting for the Lumen community.
As a result of COVID-19 restrictions, the meeting will be held virtually and open for community members who would like to join.
The Community Council normally meets twice per term and conducts an open meeting each Semester to provide families with an insight into the role and conduct of the Council. The Community Council works with the Principal and staff, Father Palé and the wider school community in both decision-making and advisory roles. For more information about the Community Council please visit our Community Council webpage.
Please register your interest in joining the meeting by emailing Barb Gough at the College - barb.gough@cg.catholic.edu.au before Friday, 28 October, 2021. You will then be sent a link to join a Teams meeting.
Be the Light of Christ.
