Dear Parents and Carers
7-10 PDHPE consent permission note
The 7-10 annual PDHPE permission note provides consent for your child to participate in PDHPE lessons that are off site (Eg. going to the Pambula tennis courts). These occur during practical lessons throughout the year. The notes were issued a few weeks ago and are still on QKR to be signed as soon as possible. We would appreciate your assistance in approving this document to ensure we can continue with our practical scope & sequence program with minimal disruption.
Stage 5 & 6 elective consent permission note
Stage 5 & 6 electives provided by the PDHPE faculty include;
- PASS water and land (Yr 9&10),
- Athlete Development Program - ADP (Yr 9&10) and
- Sport, Life and Recreation - SLR (Yr 11).
These courses require frequent local off campus activities that require permission for your son/daughter to participate in. The notes outline specific activities and locations that the class will be attending. A course fee also applies to these subjects and is outlined on the permission note.
The notes were issued a few weeks ago and are still on QKR to be signed as soon as possible. We would appreciate your assistance in finalising this document to ensure we can continue with our scheduled scope & sequence program with minimal disruption.
Thank you
PDHPE Faculty

LUMEN CHRISTI COMMUNITY COUNCIL
Lumen Christi Catholic College’s Community Council is holding an Open Meeting on Thursday, 30 March at 5:30pm in the Learning Centre. Interested parents/carers, staff and community members are invited to come along and see what the Community Council is all about. If you are interested in attending this evening, please rsvp to lccc@cg.catholic.edu.au by 3:30pm Tuesday, 28 March.
LUMEN UNIFORM COMMITTEE
We invite members of the Lumen Community who may be interested in joining our 2023 Uniform Committee. This would involve approximately 1 meeting per Term and include Staff, Students, Parent/Carers & Lumen’s Pickle Uniform Shop staff. This Committee would be a sub-committee of the Community Council and report back to them. If you are interested in attending this evening, please rsvp to lccc@cg.catholic.edu.au by 3:30pm Tuesday, 28 March.
Dear Parents and Carers
As an integral element of our ongoing communication with parents and carers Primary 3 Way Parent Student Teachers Interviews will be conducted in Term 1.
Years 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 on the Tuesday 21 and Wednesday, 22 March 2023.
Year 6 on Monday 20 and Tuesday, 21 March 2023.
Kinder on Monday 20, Tuesday 21 and Wednesday, 22 March 2023.
These are a great way for families to discuss the learning needs of students as well as allow students and teachers to set goals moving forwards.
The interviews take place in the student’s classroom after school. They are 10 minutes long. It is a good idea to think about the types of questions you would like to ask beforehand. This will help to direct the discussion and help you and your child to get the most out of the time. Please remember that this is only one of the opportunities for discussion of your child's learning.
Booking
Interviews can be booked via SENTRAL. Select the Teacher you would like an interview with and then select the time. For classes that have more than one teacher only one of the teacher’s names will appear.
Bookings can be made from 9:00am Monday 27 February to 3.30pm Thursday, 16 March.
On the Day
Please arrive at school a few minutes before your interview to ensure that you will be available for your meeting at the designated time as staff will have several interviews to conduct.
Limited parking is available in the first two bays on the right-hand side of the College car park. Additional parking is available at the Pambula Sporting Complex or on Culgoa Crescent. Parking after 4:00pm is also available in the bus lanes on the western and southern side of the College. Please do not park in these bus lanes prior to 4:00pm as it obstructs bus movement and becomes extremely dangerous for our students and staff. A reminder also that the speed limit in the College carpark is 5kph.
What if I can't attend my PST Meeting?
If you are unable to attend on the dates provided but would still like to take part in a Three Way Interview please contact the classroom teacher directly to organise a time.
Further Information:
If you require further information about the interview process, please contact Justin Short, Primary Co-ordinator Learning Enrichment on 6495 8888 or via email at justin.short@cg.catholic.edu.au .
Dear Parents and Carers
Immunisation have been scheduled for both Yr 7 and Yr 10. Yr 7 students are booked for Monday, 27 March and Yr 10 Tuesday, 2 May 2023. This year the NSW Health are moving to Online consent for school vaccinations
If your child is in Year 7 or Year 10 this year, you can now provide online consent for their routine school vaccinations.
In Year 7, students are offered free vaccines for diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis (dTpa) and human papillomavirus (HPV). In Year 10, students are offered the meningococcal ACWY vaccine.
Vaccination will only be provided at school if consent has been received.
How to provide consent:
- To complete online consent for your child’s school vaccinations, visit: https://nswhealth.service-now.com/school
- Follow the steps to log in to your existing ServiceNSW account. This is the same account you may already use to renew your driver’s licence. If you don’t have a ServiceNSW account, refer to ServiceNSW to create one.
- Update or confirm your personal details in ServiceNSW as required.
- Complete the School Vaccination Consent Form for your child/ren. You will need to:
- Enter your child’s personal details
- Provide the Medicare card details for you and your child
- Read the linked Parent Information Sheet and privacy statement
- Provide consent
If you or your child do not have a Medicare card, consent can still be provided by requesting a paper-based consent form directly from your child’s school.
The benefits of providing consent online:
- easily update your child’s details
- receive SMS and/or email notifications when vaccinations are given
- faster upload of vaccination records to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR).
For more information on routine school vaccinations, please visit www.health.nsw.gov.au/schoolvaccination.
If you require information in your language, please visit www.health.nsw.gov.au/immunisation/Pages/school_vaccination_language.aspx
