College Updates for Week 2 Term 3
The safety and wellbeing of our staff and students are paramount at all times. As such, we will continue to ensure that all necessary health advice is closely followed.
NSW Health has provided advice on testing and isolation recommendations for the community following exposure to COVID-19. If you have been identified as a close contact of a positive Covid case masks are mandatory for 7 days.
- Please remember to social distance, wash/sanitise hands regularly, and please where a mask where possible.
- Staff and students cannot attend school if they are showing any symptoms of COVID-19. These include fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of smell/taste, muscle/joint pains, diarrhea, nausea/vomiting, extreme tiredness, unexplained chest pain or conjunctivitis (eye infection).
- If symptoms occur at any time, you should not attend school and should undertake a rapid antigen test. If a rapid antigen test is positive you should isolate as someone who has tested positive to COVID-19.
- Lumen will be sending RAT kits home with all students on Friday, 22 July 2022.
Advice and further resources are available on the NSW Health website including COVID-19 guidelines and fact sheets for people who tested positive or were exposed to COVID-19. Additional resources are also available on the NSW Government website.
Dear Parents and Carers
A reminder that our College Photo days will be held on Tuesday, 26 July and Wednesday, 27 July 2022.
Order envelopes were sent home with your child last week. Please complete the form on the envelope, ensuring you provide your child’s name, PC/Year group and payment method. Envelopes are to be returned directly to the photographer on day of photos.
Uniform Requirements
Full College uniform (including blazer for Year 7 to 12 students) must be worn on BOTH Photo Days regardless of timetabled Sport/PDHPE classes.
Special Sporting Uniform requirements for students in various groups or those who have represented the College have now been waived. These students, will however, need to bring their PDPHPE/Sports uniform to school on both days.

The College has identified an outbreak of headlice, which are common in school-aged children, and are the most adaptable of creatures.
Whilst your child may not be affected, head lice are also extremely contagious.
In order to ensure the problem is solved as quickly as possible, we are encouraging parents to check their child tonight and if lice are detected to carry out a head lice treatment prior to sending their child back school.
We suggest you look for the following symptoms or signs which would indicate the presence of head lice:
* Child scratching his/her head excessively;
* Fine black powder on bed linen/pillows;
* Nits, the lice eggs, cream to coffee coloured specks stuck near the hair roots; and
* The lice themselves are small white to greyish parasites about as big as a pinhead.
If you notice any of the above signs or need further advice please contact your local pharmacist.
If your child has head lice – tell anyone who has had contact with them and ask them to check their family for head lice.
It is also timely to remind parent/guardians that in accordance with College policy, all long hair should be tied back.
For more information on lice please visit the NSW Department of Education website by using the link tab or clicking here.
Thank you for your cooperation and assistance.
