College Updates for Week 1 Term 3

Dear Parents and Carers

Semester 1 Awards Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, 20 July 2022 at 1:40pm. Parents & carers will have received an email if their child was receiving an award.  For those children receiving an award, please ensure your child is in full College Winter Uniform.

Dear Parents and Carers 

A reminder that our College Photo days will be held on Tuesday, 26 July and Wednesday, 27 July 2022.

Order envelopes were sent home with your child last week. Please complete the form on the envelope, ensuring you provide your child’s name, PC/Year group and payment method.

Uniform Requirements

Full College uniform (including blazer for Year 7 to 12 students) must be worn on BOTH Photo Days regardless of timetabled Sport/PDHPE classes.

Special Sporting Uniform requirements for students in various groups or those who have represented the College have now been waived.  These students, will however, need to bring their PDPHPE/Sports uniform to school on both days.

The College does not provide change for cash purchases of College photographs.

Another round of Rapid Antigen Tests are available for families to take home for the school holidays to ensure we keep up testing when you have any Covid or Cold/Flu like symptoms. Please collect from the College front office.

Senior Boys AFL v Eden High

Congratulations to our senior AFL team who had a friendly game against Eden High today. A great opportunity for our Year 12 players in particular to get a game in before the HSC. Some great skills and athleticism were on display in a convincing win. Thank you to Mr Thompson and Tyra for taking the team.

Athletics carnivals:

Congratulations to all of those students who participated at the primary and secondary athletics carnivals. We had great weather, excellent participation and a lot of fun.

Coerver Coaching ACT Holiday Camps – July 2022

Coerver Coaching holiday camps offer a fun filled soccer experience for children aged 4 -16+ years. Each day will include Coerver® SUPER SKILLS competitions and challenges, Ball Mastery, Coaching sessions focusing on developing effective use of skill, small sided Coerver® Games, and mini Coerver Cup Tournament to keep players active.

Dates: Monday, 11 July – Thursday, 14 July 2022

Times: 9:00am – 12:00pm each day

Venue: Northside – University of Canberra, Bruce. Southside – Trinity Christian School, Waniassa.

WHAT: 6 a-side mixed indoor hockey

WHO: High School students 15 years or under

WHERE: Bega Indoor Sports Stadium

WHEN: Term 3 - Mondays 6:15pm - 7:45pm FEES: $30 for 8 weeks

We’re taking enrolments for 2023 and places are filling quickly…

If you currently have a child at Lumen Christi with a sibling you’d like to attend Lumen next year, it’s important to complete an online enrolment application form as soon as possible.  Once you’ve submitted your child’s online application, the College will contact you with further information.

If you know of a family thinking of enrolling at Lumen Christi in 2023 who may not of yet contacted us, please suggest they complete the online form or contact the College for further information.

The Santos Science Experience is a nationwide outreach program for Year 9 and 10 students in 2022. Rotary and Monash University initiated the program in 1990 and have since played a major role in its development.

There is a course at the ANU on 21 - 23 September, 2022 and one at the University of Sydney on 18 - 20 January, 2023.

Program cost is $190 plus travel and accommodation for student and parent/guardian. Rotary can assist with financial support to offset the cost.
