Principal's COVID-19 Update - 25 February 2022 |
Dear Families I would like to offer my sincere thanks to all parents and carers for your continuing support for our school and staff as well as for your children as we have journeyed through the pandemic. We have appreciated your shared commitment to prioritising safety and learning during this challenging time. The NSW Premier and Minister for Education recently announced changes to school settings for the remainder of Term 1. These updated settings were developed in close consultation with NSW Health and key stakeholders to ensure we continue to keep our schools open for learning, while keeping up with changing community settings. The following changes are due to come into effect:
Our school will continue to ensure our layered COVID-smart measures are in place, including vaccinations, maximising natural ventilation in learning spaces, continued good hand hygiene practices and enhanced cleaning. A reminder that your child may receive a nasal swab or saliva rapid antigen testing kits in the coming weeks. Instructions are included in the kits detailing how to use the tests, check the results and dispose of the tests safely. You can also download the instructions through the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) website. The user guides will also contain a contact number for the suppliers if you need additional support. Students using saliva testing kits must not eat or drink for 30 minutes before taking the saliva RAT, to give more accurate results. Cohorting no longer required As of Monday 28 February, students will no longer be required to be kept in year groups or other cohorts. We will continue to use the core layered COVID-smart advice for minimising risk when planning activities and events. The College is working through Administrative, Pastoral and Curriculum processes as we plan for transition to the eased restrictions. We strongly encourage our students and their families to consider vaccination including boosters when eligible. Thank you again for your continued support during this school term. Regards Shane Giles |

Dear Parents,Carers and Year 11/12 HSC Students,
The HSC can be a source of stress for many students, their teachers and families. In preparation for the challenging year ahead, Inspiration ED would like to invite students and their parents to attend a FREE online HSC session on Wednesday, 23 February from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.
Log into tailored sessions to learn how to manage stress, hints and tips on working smarter, not harder and recommendations on how to ace English (Standard & Advanced) exams.
The joint and breakout sessions, delivered by experienced HSC markers ensure that attendees learn hints and tips to avoid undue stress, create a supportive learning environment and enable students to find balance between academic achievement and the rest of their life demands.
Parents and carers can attend with their Year 11 or 12 HSC student - you can check into the 'Top Tips for Parents' session while students log into the English (Standard & Advanced) session.

NSW Health has recently reported an increased incidence of Gastro in Childcare centres. The College has also noticed an increase of students in Sick Bay with Gastro like symptoms.
Gastroenteritis is commonly caused by viral infections resulting in vomiting and diarrhoea. The viruses are easily spread from person to person. Thorough washing of hands with soap and running water are vital to prevent spread. Children who have vomiting or diarrhoea need to stay at home until 48 hours after their symptoms have stopped.
We also ask that if your child is unwell in any way, that you keep them at home until symptoms have disappeared.
For more information please visit http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/.../viral-gastroenteritis.aspx
Thanks for your cooperation.

The consent allows your child to participate in off campus and aquatic activities, including a swimming assessment in Week 7 and 8 this Term. Students who do not complete this assessment will not be permitted to participate in any aquatic activities, including beach activities at the end of the year.
