Cricket News:
Berg Shield Team (7-9)
The boys played in Round 2 in Bateman’s Bay against St Joseph’s Albion Park. In a rain delayed, postponed, players out with illness game – the boys did well, but couldn’t bowl out a strong batter from Albion Park.
A big thank you to Mr Wels and Mr Hergenhan for taking the team in Mr Thompson’s absence.
Downie Trophy Team (10-11)
The boys headed to Marist College in Canberra to play Mater Dei Wagga Wagga in round 3 of the knock out competition. In a game that was looking like Lumen losing, some AMAZING bowling, fielding and team effort saw Lumen take out the win.
A big thank you to Mr Wels and Mr Whilton for taking the team.
They were due to play Edmund Rice Wollongong last week, but due to the rain it was postponed. And due to their school finishing this week and Year 10 out on camp, they will now play the quarter finals in 2024. With a date to be confirmed.
Archdiocesan of Canberra and Goulburn Sportsperson of the Year Award
A big congratulations to Jack C who has been awarded the sportsperson of the year award. Jack has enjoyed an immense amount of sporting success this year due to many hours of hard work and is a very deserving recipient of the Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Sportsperson of the Year in the Senior Boy’s Category. Jack has finished second in this category for the past two years and has gone one better this year which is a testament to both his talent and dedication. Congratulations Jack on such a successful year of sport and for being crowned our 2023 Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Sportsperson of the Year in the Senior Boy’s Category.
