BYOD Program

Our BYOD (Bring your own Device) Program is integral to the delivery of the curriculum in the classroom at Lumen Christi.

Why BYOD?

Teaching methods have changed drastically over the years. No longer is “chalk and talk” or copious notes on the whiteboard seen as the way students learn. The classroom has become more interactive with students far more engaged in their own learning. Technology enables them to explore diverse learning styles.  An Educational Tool BYOD, is based on the need to ensure students are equipped with the necessary skills to engage in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) which is not only becoming an integral part of everyday life, but central to higher education and the work force. Evidence also suggests that increased levels of student engagement via tablets and technology in general, result in better educational outcomes.

Will my child require a BYOD Device?

Year 6 to Year 10 students are required to have an iPad.  Year 11 and 12 students are encouraged to have either an iPad or laptop computer.  Kinder to Year 5 are able access technology via a computers and/or iPads which are maintained and purchased by the College.   For information on Lumen Christi's BYOD Program please download the 2017 BYOD Program Information Guide for Parents or contact the College.
